V. VWDoc91. 1093 posts · Joined 2008. #4 · Apr 6, 2016. I've never had problems getting my MK2 diesel any slower. I got it to 70 easy, up to 100. Might not kick up speeds as quick as turbo versions, let alone the snappy 8v and 16v, but it gets me there. Wouldn't change anything for the world. .
